Welcome Principal Jennifer Buckland

Dear Green Valley Families,

It’s with great enthusiasm, excitement, and honor that we welcome you to the 2021-2022 school year at Green Valley Elementary School! We are honored that you have entrusted our highly qualified staff to facilitate your child’s learning this school year.

For the past nine years, Ms. Buckland has worked diligently to provide the students of Green Valley Elementary with experiences and resources that allow ALL students to succeed. At GVE, she co-created the systems that provided teachers with instructional strategies to positively impact student achievement and classroom engagement.

Ms. Buckland began her career, in DPS, as a Speech-Language Pathologist at McMeen Elementary School in 2003. She brought with her a drive to build authentic relationships and a relentless pursuit of equity to this position. As a lifelong learner, Ms. Buckland gained expertise collaboratively working with leaders and specialists in Special Education and in Literacy.

We have confidence in her leadership ability and look forward to our continued work with her. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the Family & Community Office at 720-423-3054. We deeply appreciate your support for Green Valley Elementary, and we know that together we will continue to lead for student success.

At Green Valley Elementary, our utmost priority is to ensure that ALL of our students reach their highest potential academically, and are on the path to being active, well-informed, and contributing members of our local/global community.

At GVE, all of our students deserve and will receive a high-quality education. They will also be engaged in fun, yet challenging instructional opportunities!

We know that high levels of learning occur when we build a strong partnership with you. In order to build this relationship, I ask that you invite members of our staff during the first few weeks of school to engage in a Virtual home visit. During this brief thirty-minute conversation, our staff will learn what your hopes, and dreams are for your child’s future! We will also get the opportunity to share with you specifics about our vision of being a school that continuously celebrates/honors diversity, develops a sense of students’ self-confidence/respect, and instructional innovation.

This school year, your child will be successful because we will utilize the power of WE! The power of we includes our teachers, our community members, and most importantly you!

As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.

We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

On our end, we are committed to:

Together, we will support your child to be academically successful, and on the path to being an active, well-informed, and contributing member of our local/global community!

With your support, We are Stronger Together!
