Green Valley Eco Club

Eco Club:
The Green Valley Eco Club is a team of students and teachers working to reduce our school's waste and promote environmental stewardship.  Students can join the club by contacting 5th Grade Teacher Clayton Dewey.

In 2008-2009 the Eco Club did the following

-organized assemblies for all grade levels informing students on how much waste we generate
-composted food waste in our classroom using a worm bin
-expanded the school recycling program from paper to also include plastic and glass
-participated in a Recycling Webquest
-implemented a responsible paper towel waste campaign
-started a Zero Waste Lunch program
-visited the Alpine Recycling Plant and conducted an interview with an employee
-produced a documentary for fellow students interested in starting Eco Clubs and reducing waste
